What’s included in each plan?

All plans include automated daily backups (unlimited storage space) of your entire site, 1-click restores, stats, priority support, brute force attack protection, uptime monitoring, spam protection, site migration, and an activity log.

The Personal and Premium plans are limited to a 30-day backup archive while Professional is unlimited.

The Premium and Professional plans also offer automated security scanning against malware and infiltrations with the Professional plan also offering automated threat resolution.

How many sites can I protect with VaultPress?

A VaultPress subscription is for a single WordPress site. You can purchase additional subscriptions for each of your WordPress sites, and manage them all with in one place.

Does VaultPress work with WordPress 3.0 Multisite installs?

Yes, VaultPress supports Multisite installs. Each site will require its own subscription.

Was doing manual backups, but for only $3.50 a month I get peace of mind from automatic backups. Would be great if I got a badge next the VaultPress menu option on the sidebar indicating I have a message about a backup issue, so I don't have to click on VaultPress to see if backups are working. I ran into an issue where the backup process was caught in an endless loop and I did not have a backup for several days. I only found out about the issue by clicking on VaultPress and seeing the notice my site had not been backed up in several days. It would also be great to add an option to wp-cli to get the latest message and/or list of previous backups and date/time of them.

VaultPress's subscription plans start at $5 per month ($55 per year) and increase based on the level of service required.

Installing VaultPress

To install VaultPress, first log in to your WordPress site and open the Add Plugins panel.

Search for VaultPress and click Install Now.

When the installation is complete, click Activate Plugin.

You'll then be given an alert that VaultPress needs your attention. Click Register VaultPress.

If you have already signed up with VaultPress, you can enter your registration key now. If you have not signed up, view the plans and pricing. (Because it is an Automattic product, VaultPress requires a WordPress.com account to register.)

After entering your registration key, click Register.

Checking the Status of Your First Backup

Once the plugin is registered for your site, VaultPress will immediately begin its first backup. Depending on the size of your website, this first backup can take up to a day; however, subsequent backups will take even less time.
